Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner, AC, Governor of Tasmania

Young people occupy a precarious space in this rapidly changing and uncertain world. The challenges they face as they negotiate life’s transitions are many. It is vital, then, that those who work with and for young people – such as teachers, community workers and health professionals – are equipped with innovative, evidence-based research, policies and practices that empower young people in the present and prepare them for the future.
The Centre for Applied Youth Research recognises the global nature of the economic, social, moral, cultural emotional and physical challenges experienced by young people. CAYR serves the youth sector in the Asia-Pacific region by providing a much-needed platform to inform and engage practitioners, researchers and policymakers. I am delighted to support and promote the work of CAYR as its Patron.
